About Us
Born in Michigan and rooted in Alaska since 2011, Matt Worden built Go Hike Alaska from a simple idea — that the best way to experience Alaska is through human-powered adventure. After years of exploring Chugach State Park with his wife, Brandi, and daughter, Norah, Matt created a guiding company focused on helping people connect with Alaska’s wilderness the way locals do: step by step, season after season.
What started with just one guide and one truck has grown into a year-round, sustainability-minded operation offering guided hikes, snowshoeing tours, foraging experiences, and backpacking adventures just minutes from Anchorage.
Matt and his team are dedicated to education, safety, and confidence-building, giving guests the skills and knowledge to continue exploring Alaska long after the tour ends. With thousands of miles hiked and years of wilderness guiding experience, Go Hike Alaska exists to offer authentic, human-powered, world-class adventure to every traveler who wants to experience Alaska beyond the pavement.
